History of Bubbles

The idea of creating bubbles changed the history of humanity, the way of life and the culture of the whole world.

In 1767, Joseph Priestley suspended a bowl of water over a beer vat and with this way the method of infusing water with carbon dioxide began. At the end of the 18th century, J.J. Schweppe perfected this carbonation process with the use of spring water. This sparkling water quickly became popular as a tonic and remedy for indigestion, as until then natural spring water was believed to have healing powers or even magical effects. In 1832, John Mathews invented the soda fountain, and by the early 1920s, almost every American drugstore had its own soda fountain, transforming drugstores into soda bars, the new public meeting point during Prohibition.

History of Three Cents

Inspired by the history of bubbles and their importance in everyone’s lives, Three Cents began experimenting with homemade soda fountains to take the science of carbonation a step further. Their goal was to make the perfect soda, achieve dynamic balance, eliminate a drink’s nucleation points, and capture the maximum number of bubbles in a bottle without ever losing its fizz even after opening the bottle. , even when the drink is down to the last drop. Creating a product line that would create the perfect body for a cocktail or long drink and at the same time enhance its flavour and aroma using only natural ingredients. The secret to their success was simple… more carbon dioxide! Simple, but extremely complicated and time-consuming because they performed many experiments to make it work. Eventually, they were able to master the formula by using a lower temperature and higher pressure to increase the carbon dioxide that will be dissolved in the water, resulting in a fizzier drink. And so production began in the factory in Greece, using exclusively natural ingredients and spring water.

Production was accompanied by packaging, which also proved very difficult to control. After long hours of experimentation, Three Cents developed a range of specially designed 200ml glass bottles with a crown cap which allowed them to achieve the perfect balance and maximum carbonation. Everything was planned, measured, monitored, tested multiple times by a team of dedicated bartenders and a scientific manual in hand, leading to the creation of Three Cents premium craft drinks.

But for who?

Three Cents craft beverages were created by bartenders for bartenders to fill a gap in the market. The lack of a perfect soda to use for creating a perfect gin tonic, a perfect long drink, a perfect cocktail. A soda that will balance all ingredients while bringing out the subtle flavours of natural herbs, spices, citrus and maintaining the fizz of a drink until its last drop. This was the initial objective and ultimately the objective achieved! But sodas and tonics are not just for professionals! They are aimed at everyone who wants a soda or tonic with long-lasting bubbles, natural flavours and spring water and with which we can prepare cocktails and long drinks at home for an aperitif!
