- 20 eggs
- 4 handfuls of onion leaves
- 100 ml white vinegar
Making
Add about 3 or 4 large handfuls of onion leaves, cold water and white vinegar to a wide pot.
Boil for 20 minutes.
Put aside to cool. Add some more water if necessary.
Wipe the eggs to clean them well. Choose white or light colored eggs so that the colors of the dye look brighter.
Use a slotted spoon to add the eggs to the pot. Lay them in a single layer, carefully so they don’t crack. Bring to a boil again for another 20 minutes.
Remove the pot from the fire. Set the pot with water aside to cool. Once the water cools, refrigerate overnight.
The following day, remove eggs, drain on paper towels and make them shiny with some olive oil. Put them in a nice Easter basket!
