Discover pastourmadopita, a traditional Greek pastry that perfectly combines the spicy character of pastourma with the creamy, mild flavour of kasseri cheese. This golden and crispy pastry is ideal for a convivial appetizer or a delicious meal featuring authentic Greek flavours.
Ingrédients
- 500 g filo dough
- 15 slices of pastourma
- 250 g kasseri AOP
- 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 beaten egg
- extra virgin olive oil
Making
First, preheat the oven to 180°C.
Slice the tomatoes and remove the seeds.
Cut into slices the kasseri cheese.
Grease the baking dish of 35 x 25 x 5 cm preferably, put the first layer of filo well oiled. Oil another 6, let them overflow the dish.
Next, lay all the pastourma slices evenly over the surface.
Add the kasseri slices and tomato slices.
Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame and/or black sesame seeds. Make 3 or 4 slits across the top 2 or 3 layers of filo.
Bake at 180°C for about 40 minutes. Let cool slightly, cut into squares, and serve warm with a salad or yogurt dip.
