Sardeles ladorigani or fresh baked sardines is a dish of Greek cuisine that is served either as a main course or as a mezze!
This dish is easy to prepare and ideal for those hot days or for the time that you want to feel the summer and the sea! Another benefit of this dish is the large number of beneficial nutrients that sardeles contain such as the omega-3 fatty acids.
Ingredients
- 1.5 kg fresh sardines
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil Megaritiki
- 2 medium tomatoes, sliced (optional)
- 2 garlic cloves, sliced (optional)
- 2 lemons
- chopped parsley
- salt
- freshly grounded pepper
- oregano

Making
First, preheat the oven to 180 ° C and cut the heads of the sardeles, trim them and wash them.
Then, drain them and line them directly in a large baking dish.
Slice the one lemon, the garlic cloves and the tomatoes, if you want to add, and arrange them between the fish.
Then sprinkle the sardines with the juice of the other lemon and extra virgin olive oil.
At the end, sprinkle with parsley, salt, freshly ground pepper and oregano.
Bake in a hot oven for about 25-30 minutes.
Serve as a mezze or as a main course with a green salad or horta and a glass of ouzo !
