Frappé coffee

Frappé coffee can be served in 3 different ways:
“Sketos”: sugar-free
“Metrios”: medium strong, slightly sweet
“Glykos”: very sweet

Furthermore, in slang there is one more way to serve frappé coffee called frapógalo -φραπόγαλο-, literally meaning “frappé and milk” and we use the term when a frappé coffee is really sweet with lot of milk.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee
  • sugar (according to taste)
  • milk (according to taste)
  • cold water
  • ice cubes

Utensils

  • shaker or milk further/electric whisk

Making

With a shaker:

First, put instant coffee, sugar according your taste and 4 tablespoons of cold water in a shaker.

Close the shaker and shake vigorously until you obtain a thick, creamy foam.

Pour the contents of the shaker into a tall glass with ice cubes.

Add milk if desired and top up with fresh water if necessary.

Serve with a straw.

With a milk frother or electric whisk:

In a glass, put the instant coffee, sugar according your taste and 4 tablespoons of cold water.

Froth with a frother until you obtain a thick and creamy foam.

Add ice cubes, a little milk if you wish, and top up with cold water.

Mix gently and serve with a straw.
