The roasted leg of lamb with potatoes is a festive dish that can be served for Greek Easter, for Christmas, New Years or just for a family meal !
Ingredients
- 2 kg leg of lamb
- 1.5 kg medium-sized potatoes
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 15 cl extra virgin olive oil
- 15 cl hot water
- 2 lemons (the juice)
- 1 tablespoon organic thyme
- 1 tablespoon organic oregano
- salt
- pepper

Making
Wash the meat and place it on a baking dish.
Preheat your oven to 160 ° C.
Cut the garlic cloves into slices, sprinkle them with salt and pepper and introduce them into incisions that you will make in the leg of the lamb.
Peel the potatoes and cut them in four, then arrange them around the meat.
Pour the extra virgin olive oil on top, sprinkle with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Sprinkle with thyme and oregano, and add hot water.
Put the dish in the oven and cook in a moderate oven for about 2 hours.
When the leg is cooked, place it on a dish, serving the potatoes around the meat.
If the potatoes are not browned enough, place them under the grill for a while.
Serve with a good greek salad and accompany your lamb with tzatziki!
