The Americano was firstly served in 1860s at Gaspare Campari’s bar in Milan. Its first name was not “Americano” but “Milano-Torino” of this origins of its two main ingredients. It was named “Americano” after the success it had around the turn of the 20th century among American tourists.
Ingredients
- 30 ml Otto's Athens Vermouth
- 30 ml Bitter Aperitif
- 100 ml Two Cents Plain soda water
- orange slice
- ice
Utensils

Making
In a chilled tall glass add the cubed ice.
Then add the Otto’s Athens Vermouth, the Bitter Aperitif and carefully top up with Two Cents Plain.
Garnish with a freshly cut orange slice.
