Bechamel sauce is used for the most famous Greek dishes such as moussaka, pastitsio and papoutsakia. Here it is a simple recipe for your dishes !
Ingredients
- 50 g butter
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 90 cl milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 nutmeg tip
Utensils
- 1 saucepan
- 1 whisk
Making
Melt the butter over low heat in a saucepan.
Add the flour, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Stir with a whisk until the mixture is homogeneous and then remove from heat.
Add the milk slowly, stirring constantly and put back on the heat. Cook until the sauce is smooth and thick.
Proportions for 2 cups.
Now you can cook moussaka, pastitsio and papoutsakia.
